Experience
I tutored economically disadvantaged students at UCLA for two years. As a Guidance Counselor I work with college students and help them achieve their best in all respects. I have years of experience tutoring being the second eldest of six kids and needing to tutor my brothers for all subjects. To say I feel comfortable tutoring children is an understatement. It is a very gratifying experience to bring a student to not only excel in a subject they once struggled in, but watch their confidence grow. I love being a tutor because I enjoy teaching and helping people. My specialty is College Application Assistance. The UC applications have changed this year and therefore I have attended three Personal Insight Question workshops for counselors. Those workshops enlightened us to what UCLA and other UC's are looking for, the trends of admitted students, and the do's and don'ts of writing the personal insight questions. I offer two services: 1. an objective, critical reading of your personal insight questions with feedback of your strong points and weaknesses. We would never meet up to keep the reading unbiased and as close to what you would experience submitting to an application reader. I would then write up a critique of your PIQ's and can meet with you over the phone. 2. I can meet with you, brainstorm with you, and relay the beneficial information I received at my workshops and training. My price for both options is 50.00 for one session (approximately 1 hour)
